Future of Disposable Packaging in 2050

I envision a shift towards entirely biodegradable packaging, This designas an innovative plastic garbage bag, made from composite material –Food waste and embedded with seeds and decomposition microbeswithin specialized bubbles, transforms waste disposal. By simplydiscarding and stepping on the bag, users activate the microbes, whichrapidly decompose the material and turn it into fertilizer, potentiallygrowing new life from the seeds.

This concept will change the definition of waste and break the norm of disposing of trash into bins, promoting ecological beauty through littering

Towards a Biodegradable Future?

Now we are journeying towards a new ‘realm’ of disposable waste – Biodegradable Future. My design will be based onthe context where all disposable waste in the future are biodegradable material.

Reflection: The final material design of decomposition microbe growing bag are lacks of collaboration with biologists, material scientists, orenvironmental engineers; as well as no testing towards  hence, it canonly serve as a conceptual design. It is purely a transformative wastetreatment solution conceived from a design perspective. Moreover,  thereis a lack of economic analysis regarding the potential coasts involved inthe widespread adoption of materials mentioned in the design, specifically the composite materials made from food waste, decomposition microbes and seed.
